6 Reasons I Can’t Live Without the ZO Custom No Downtime Peel
If you’ve read my recent “Intro to Peels” blog, you are familiar with the ZO Custom No Downtime Peel, which I refer to as “mild” on the salsa spiciness scale (if I’ve lost you already, click here to catch up on my food analogies).
I absolutely love the ZO No Downtime Custom Peel because it is always a great place to start. If you are new to the world of peels, new to aesthetics, or just enjoy the feeling of healthy, glowing skin- this is the peel for you!
In this blog, I’m going to break down some of my favorite things about this peel:
1. No Prep
The first reason why I love this peel is that there is no prep required! This means that a ZO No Downtime Peel is the perfect last minute, pre- event, or lunchtime peel. Because this peel is targeting the top (superficial) layer of the skin, there is no need to precondition the skin with a retinoid.
During the peel, your skin will be cleansed and exfoliated first. Then a peel prep solution will be applied to remove any remaining surface oils. Next, the peel solution is applied! You may be surprised to find out that this is just a liquid solution which is applied using a gauze pad- it is not a gel or masque that is really peeled off. After letting the peel set for the prescribed amount of time, the peel will be neutralized. Many clients feel a bit of a warming sensation during this step. After the peel is applied, I can customize the next steps to target what your skin needs most (see #3!).
2. Great way to kick off a new skin routine
If you don’t know where to start or you are considering changing your home skincare routine, my favorite way to kick off those changes is with a ZO Custom No Downtime Peel! 5. You will leave with your skin feeling hydrated and glowing
I saved the best one for second-to-last! After your ZO Custom No Downtime Peel, you will leave with your skin glowing, hydrated, and oh-so-soft. This is what makes this service so perfect before a big event, or even if you need a little pick-me-up. If you have a big event coming up, I recommend coming in for your peel 1-2 days prior. I typically recommend avoiding makeup the same day as your peel if you can avoid it, because this give more time for those awesome products to do their thing.

In case the name doesn’t give it away- the ZO Custom No Downtime Peel has ZERO downtime! That means you will not have peeling from this “peel”. The chemicals used in this chemical peel are designed to effect only the top layer of skin, and act by loosening the bonds of that older dead skin so that it can be exfoliated and reveal the beautiful glowing skin underneath. There is no discomfort during this peel, and clients find it to be a relaxing and rewarding experience.
