Fortunately, we now live in a time with DEKA Tetra CO2! This device is manufactured by Europe’s top laser manufacturer, DEKA and allows for a very versatile treatment with significantly less downtime than traditional CO2.
What will a CO2 laser treatment do for my skin?
DEKA Tetra CO2 can improve fine lines and wrinkles, texture, skin laxity, large pores, acne scars, and sun spots. DEKA DOT treatment is especially remarkable at addressing vertical lip lines (aka smoker’s lines or barcode lines). It can even be used to treat the delicate skin around the eyes to give a tightening effect on thin, crepey skin.
How does the laser work?
The device works by using laser energy to create tiny, controlled laser channels into the skin. The body recognizes these as injuries and starts a healing process. The result of the healing process is an instant remodeling of the body’s collagen, with long term formation of new collagen and elastin. This healing process leads to the brighter, tighter, smoother skin we are all looking for!

What is the difference between CoolPeel© and DEKA DOT treatments?
CoolPeel© and DEKA DOT are both CO2 treatments performed with the same laser. The difference is the layer of the skin that is targeted with each treatment.
CoolPeel© refers to a light/superficial treatment that effects only the top layer of the skin. Generally speaking, CoolPeel© is a better choice for clients in their 20’s to 30’s who are looking to maintain their skin quality and are not yet showing signs of aging. Superficial treatments are not the best choice for deeper problems such as scars or significant age related changes. CoolPeel© typically requires a series of treatments for best results.
DEKA DOT refers to a deeper treatment where the middle or lower layers of the skin are targeted and significant collagen formation is stimulated. DEKA DOT is ideal for addressing signs of aging such as wrinkles, skin laxity, large pores, and also for scars. DEKA DOT will yield significant results in as little as 1 treatment. Sometimes a series of treatments will be recommended depending on the client’s problems and goals.
What will the downtime be like?
The downtime varies among clients because everyone’s body responds a little differently. In general, the deeper/more aggressive the treatment is, the more downtime you will have (and the better results you will get!).
For light/superficial treatments such as CoolPeel©, the face is typically red the day of treatment and the day after, followed by 3-7 of rough skin texture. Clients can return to their normal activities almost immediately. Light/superficial treatments are great for those who are looking for a quick downtime period, but a series of treatments are typically needed in order to create a meaningful result. Generally speaking, CoolPeel© is a better choice for clients in their 20’s to 30’s who are looking to maintain their skin quality. Superficial treatments are not the best choice for deeper problems such as scars or significant age related changes.
Medium and Deeper treatments create a longer downtime. In general, an average of 5 to 7 days of significant redness, moderate swelling, and rough skin texture should be expected. In some cases, the redness and rough texture can last two weeks. The length of post treatment changes is affected by how deep/aggressive the treatment was, how your body responds to the healing process, and how well you followed the before and aftercare instructions.
When will I see results?
Smoother, healthier looking skin will be apparent as soon as the healing process is complete. And the best thing about collagen stimulating treatments like these are that the results continue to improve over 3-6 months as new collagen is formed.
How long do the results last?
CoolPeel© and DEKA DOT produce permanent changes in the skin! While the results don’t “wear off”, the aging process continues with time so we do recommend repeating the treatment yearly for best results.
